Dementia and Alzheimer’s both negatively impact a person’s memory. Dementia is caused by various conditions. Examples of dementia include Vascular, Mixed, Frontotemporal, Parkinson’s Disease, and Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB,) Creutzfeldt – Jakob Disease, to name a few. Depending on the cause, some forms of dementia can be controlled, if not reversed, with activities and medication. Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of dementia. This condition progresses slowly, resulting in long-term memory impairment and cognitive malfunction.
